This week's choir rehearsal:

Music at Northside:

Worship isn't just something we do. It's something we are! Worship is more than just singing. It should be a way of life seeking to honor the Lord in all we do and say.

The music ministry of Northside seeks to provide opportunities and experiences in which people are able to encounter God and express praise and thanksgiving to Him through music. Sundays are special at Northside, as the faith family gathers together for times of worship. We think you'll enjoy your experience in worship with us. Here at Northside, there is something for everyone in our blended and eclectic style. There are graded children's choirs, youth choir, adult choir, Women's Ensemble, as well as solo and small group opportunities. We expect that the folks who sing on the platform at Northside are, by and large, committed and dedicated members of the choirs, and are faithful in other areas of church life.

Each week I am so grateful to those who’ve offered themselves and their talents during worship. This week is no different: Thanks to Rick Brown, Lynn Weide, Martha LaCroix, and our adult and youth choirs. As Paul encouraged Timothy, “Continue to fan into flame the gift that is in you…”

This week, we begin our new church year. That means our upcoming 6th graders will join us in Sunday School, youth choir, Discipleship Training, Power Hour, and all other student activities. I encourage you to take this opportunity to redouble your commitment to faithful church attendance. Parents, thank you for your commitment to have your students in attendance for all of our student functions.

This Sunday is the first Sunday of the month. As such, it is our monthly youth Sunday School breakfast. We’ll take care of the juice and milk, and you can bring the breakfast foods. Also, we will return to our school time schedule for Sunday afternoons this week: youth choir at 4:00, discipleship at 5:00, and worship at 6:00. Finally, this Sunday night, there will be a lock-in at First United Methodist Church, and we’re invited to join other youth groups in the area. The cost is $3.00, and girls should bring snack foods, while boys should bring a 2-liter soft drink. The lock-in will begin at 8:00 P.M. in their youth center and end at 8:00 A.M. Monday morning. Meet us there!

It’s gonna be a great weekend! I hope to see you in worship.
