This week's newsletter is late being posted online. Due to the fun and craziness of VBS, I simply forgot to post it. So sorry -Bro. Shawn
A WORD FROM THE PASTOR:
Dear Northside Family,
Vacation Bible School got cranked up on Monday morning here at Northside. We had seventy-eight children and seventy-seven workers for the first day. We will be continuing through Friday. Family night will begin at 6:00 on Friday evening. I hope you will plan to be here with us and enjoy all that the children have been working so hard on during the week. Be in prayer for the gospel presentation later this week as we talk to first through fifth graders concerning the sacrifice Christ made for all of us on the cross.
There are ten other men joining me for the Gridiron Men’s Conference on Father’s Day weekend. I appreciate these men investing their time andresources as they seek to strengthen themselves for the task God has called us to as men. Pray for: Jared Barton, Johay Bruff, Glen Gravlee, Emmett Green, Matthew Green, Craig Hendon, David Hendon, Bob Nolen, Mark Nuss, and Blake Walton. We will leave the church Friday afternoon at 4:30 and go to Niki’s West for supper then head to the BJCC for the conference. Saturday morning, we will leave the
church at 6:30. We will stop by Chick-fil-A on the way back to Birmingham. The conference will end at 12:30 p.m. I always enjoy the time I spend

Youth & Education
VBS – Well, things are pretty “wild” around NBC this morning. VBS is off to a great start with a lot of excitement
among the staff and the children. Please pray for the decision time on Thursday morning. There are
a number of children who do not regularly attend our church and some who don’t attend anywhere. If you
would like to come to the church and pray, there are several rooms not being used where you could do this.
VBS ends Friday night at 6:00 with the preschool children singing some songs they will learn this week and
then the children performing the VBS musical.
Fuge – Health/Permission forms are due by this Sunday, June 9. We will have a commissioning time at the
end of the morning service on June 16 for everyone going to Fuge this year. If you are going, please make
it a priority to be here for this service.
Mission of Hope – Our church is responsible for staffing the food distribution on June 13 at the MOH. You
can join us at the church at 8:00 a.m. or meet us there by 8:30. Please let me know if you plan to go with us.
We need some adults to join with our students in this effort.
MUSIC & OUTREACH
I just finished leading almost 60 kids in singing VBS songs and that was just our 1st through 5th
graders. Whew! What a fun group. We’re preparing for the VBS family night musical which will take place
on Friday night at 6:00. Come on out, support the kids, and make our guests feel welcome. Keep praying for our VBS students and workers. Say a special prayer on Thursday as we share the gospel with the older students that morning at 9:20. Also, keep in mind that our children’s choir will rehearse in the sanctuary this Wednesday night. Prayer meeting will take place in the fellowship hall.
I won’t have an article in next week’s newsletter. This time next week I’ll be at Timber Creek Camp with our CentriKid Campers. Please pray for us for safe travels, a good time, and life changing experiences with Jesus. Parents of children who will be in grades 4-6, go ahead mark your calendars for next year. VBS will be June 1-5, and we’ve already reserved spots at Timber Creek Camp for June 7-11, 2020.
Please keep these important dates in mind when planning your vacations for next summer.
