A WORD FROM THE PASTOR:
Dear Northside Family,
This Sunday evening we will have the privilege of baptizing six new believers. They are: Joley Brown, Chloe Groves, Maddie Scarborough, Brandi Wallace, C.R. Wallace, and Gracie Wallace. I will be baptizing Joley, Chloe, and Maddie. Brandi’s father, the Rev. Patrick Benson, is pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church here in our association. He is a good friend of mine, and I have asked him to be a part of our service and to baptize his daughter as well as two of his grandchildren. I hope you will make the commitment to be present in support of these new followers of Christ.
The next day, Monday, May 6, I will be taking our senior adults to Birmingham for the Alabama Baptist Senior Adult Evangelism Conference to be held at Lakeside Baptist Church. The conference begins at 9:30 and concludes at 3:00. We will leave the church at 8:00. Be sure and eat breakfast beforehand. We will go eat lunch together. The signup sheet is located in the senior adult area. This conference is always outstanding, and the ones who go enjoy it very much. Hopefully we will have a big enough group to go that we can take the bus and enjoy a day of worship together.

Youth & Education
Our annual Graduate Recognition Service will be on May 19. All graduates and parents should have received a letter from me about this service. If you are graduating from high school and have not received a letter, please contact me ASAP. There are some deadlines approaching for pictures that need to be met and also a deadline about the number of family members who will be here for breakfast that morning. If you have any questions, please contact me.
VBS registration for “In the Wild” is now underway. VBS will be June 3 - 7, with family night set for Friday, June 7. Teachers and decorators are already prepping for a great week. Please, take a minute and think of who you can invite to be involved with us for VBS this year. You can register your children online here.
Look for a poster in the next week or so that will give you options as to what you can purchase to help with VBS snack each day. Ms. Lou and her crew will be fixing up goodies each day for the children to enjoy. Each snack will go along with the “In the Wild” theme and be matched to the study for the day. Thanks in advance for your help.

MUSIC & OUTREACH
I’ll begin by saying thanks to the approximately 100 of you who served others as a part of our Sunday of Service. Remember, we don’t have to have a special day planned for that. Your Bible study group, or even your own family, could do that anytime. Let’s be the church by serving someone else this week!
Children’s Choir –
Preparation for the VBS musical is well underway. If your child is not involved in children’s choir, it’s not too late to get involved. We rehearse on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and beginning this Sunday, we’ll also rehearse at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday as well. Parents, you are likely already aware if your child has a speaking part. Please work with your children to help them learn their lines. We only have one month left to prepare.
This year’s Easter musical is past us, but every Wednesday rehearsal is still important as we prepare to lead our church in worship on Sundays. If you are not a part of the choir and would like to be, join us this Wednesday night at 7:15. You won’t regret it.
Many of you have already logged in to our church app “Realm Connect” and are enjoying its messaging features that you can use to talk with your group and other individuals. If you have not yet logged in, or are having trouble logging in, just let me know. I’d love to help you.
Beckie Sartain is in need of some folks, men or ladies, with jigsaws in hand to cut out some VBS animal decorations from cardboard. Got any artistic abilities? She will also need some painters to paint these cutouts and she has a tutorial to help with that. If you can help, please see Beckie or Kasey Wiginton.

Dear Northside Baptist Church Family,
Thank you for your donation of chocolate candy for the Easter baskets for the children of our Mission of Hope clients. Our volunteers made 100 baskets. We could not have accomplished this task without the help of our church families. We pray the real celebration of the Easter story was related to these children while eating candy and hunting eggs. Hallelujah! Jesus Arose! Lori Abercrombie
