On Wednesday, March 13, our church voted to call Wes Lamon as our new Director of Children's Ministry. Let Wes know how happy you are that God has placed him in this very important area of service in our church!!! You can email him at

Dear Northside Family,

When I went out to the hospital to visit a longtime friend on Monday morning, it was upsetting when this friend did not recognize me. Even sadder will be my experience in a few weeks when I will travel to Georgia to see my parents. My own mother will not recognize me as her oldest child. During this surgical experience I have recently gone through, I was not able to talk to her about it because it simply would not register with her. The stroke she suffered fourteen months ago and possibly another small one more recently have robbed her of her ability to walk and to reason, as well as her memory and recognition of her own family. I suppose being in the ministry for thirty-seven years has prepared me for this time in my life because I understand that what is going on in my mother’s life is simply a part of life itself. Strokes are something that afflict a lot of people. In fact, my dad has had three strokes, but fortunately, he suffers no ill effects from them. He has been blessed.

My point in all this is how exciting it is that our heavenly Father will never forget our names once they have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Our parents’ health may eventually fail them to the point that they can’t remember us, but our God will never fail to know us by name. Praise God for that great blessing!

 -Bro. David

Boston Butt Sale - It's not too late!

If you would like to purchase a Boston Butt, but have not been approached by one of our students, please contact me. Every penny earned from this sale helps our students go to Fuge this summer. Students, please turn in your money or any unsold tickets by this Sunday. If you need additional tickets, let me know Wednesday night.

Anchored in Hope

This is the theme for our Youth Ministry in 2019. Hebrews 6:19 is the focal verse for this idea that as believers we are “Anchored in Hope” through Christ. We will be getting t-shirts for the group. We will make these shirts available to anyone who would like one after a design is chosen. Watch the Realm app for a picture coming soon.

Paint the Base

We will meet around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, to clean up in the youth wing and paint The Base room. We hope to have all the preliminary work done on the lights and the ceiling so that painting will finish it off. If you are staying in town during Spring Break, make it a point to come and help out.

-Bro. John

Many of you have expressed to me how much you are enjoying the features in Realm. I’m so glad you like this new church communication tool and that it is helping you stay connected with the church staff and with each other.  One of the things in Realm I’m hearing the most comments about is this online newsletter. (In case you missed it, our weekly newsletter is currently mailed in a printed form, and it is put on our website at We are posting a link to it in Realm every week.)

Our newsletter is what I want to talk to you about today. Since many of you are reading the online newsletter regularly now, some of you have asked if it would save the church money to take you off the mailing list for the printed version. The answer to that question is yes and no. We currently mail out almost 300 newsletters per week, so we get a bulk postage rate. We will lose that bulk rate as we drop addresses from the list. To save money from what we’re paying in postage now, we need to get that printed mailing list down to fewer than 80 addresses. We want you to get the newsletter in whichever method you prefer, whether it be print or online. That said, if you’d like to be removed from the printed newsletter mailing list, and just receive an online notification instead,  click the image link below to email me and let me know. We will not make any actual changes to the mailing list until it is fewer than 80 people.

- Bro. Shawn

The church currently has a need for a paid substitute child care worker. This person will serve occasionally as back-up to care for children of adult choir members during Wednesday evening practices. Members at least 16 years of age may apply. If you are interested, please go by the church office to get more details and complete a brief application. Thank You! - Personnel Committee

Table Bridal Shower: Kyle Allen & Erika Quinn

There will be a Table Bridal Shower for Kyle Allen and Erika Quinn on Sunday, March 24. There is a table set up in the education foyer where you may place gifts for the couple. Kyle and Erika cannot be present for a formal tea due to work and school constraints. The wedding is April 6. They are registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Target. Walmart gift cards would also be appreciated. You may also hand gifts to Katrina Kimbrell or Lisa Allen if you prefer.

We extend our love and sympathy to Tim Elliott in the death of his uncle,

Johnny Williams.

Many thanks to my wonderful Northside family for all the thoughtful acts of kindness to me and my family since my knee replacement surgery. The cards, food, and most of all your prayers have been so appreciated. Pray that I will continue to improve every day and be back with all of you very soon. I am so blessed to be part of this church family.

Margaret Hoobler

Dear Northside family,

What a blessing it was to see you face-to-face again! We love you and are grateful for the impact you’ve had and continue to have on our family. Thank you for the partnership! We are grateful you are choosing to give and pray so that God’s work may reach the lost language communities in the form they can best understand. We ask God’s blessings on you all individually and as a body for your generosity and faithfulness as partners in our Wycliffe ministry. God is using you in Jasper and around the world!
