A WORD FROM THE PASTOR:
Dear Northside Family,
I want to make our men aware of a movie being promoted by Dr. Tony Evans. It is called Kingdom Men Rising. It is going to be playing two nights only on April 29 and 30. That’s a Monday and a Tuesday night. The movie from Dr. Evans and LifeWay Films features some of the most influential voices in music, media, sports, and culture. Those sharing messages include Lecrae, Priscilla Shirer, Tony Dungy, Kirk Franklin and more. Men check it out, and if you are interested in going as a group, let me hear from you. Unfortunately, the movie is not playing in Cullman, so we will have to go to Trussville or Patton Creek. I can envision a stop at Niki’s West!

It’s also not too early to begin making plans to attend this year’s Gridiron Men’s Conference on Father’s Day weekend. We have some money budgeted to help offset the cost of attending. The rate is $109. Each man pays $64, the church covers the other $45. The conference takes place on a Friday night and Saturday morning. We have gone for the last three years, and it is a fantastic conference. Friday night will feature Christian comedian, Michael Jr. and James Merritt. Saturday morning’s lineup includes Jake Olson, Tony Evans, and Phil Waldrep. Musicians will be Josh Turner and Charles Billingsley. We will get a sign up sheet out soon, but I did want you to begin thinking about attending this great men’s conference.

Youth & Education
Anchored in Hope
This is the theme for our Youth Ministry in 2019. Hebrews 6:19 is the focal verse for this idea that as believers we are “Anchored in Hope” through Christ. We will be getting t-shirts for the group. We will make these shirts available to anyone who would like one. Ordering info coming soon. Here is what the shirts will look like.
For years research has proven that people are more open to attend church during the weeks leading up to Christmas and Easter than at any other time of the year. All that is needed for most of these people is an invitation from someone they know. How many people do you know that are not involved in Bible study and/or worship on a weekly basis? How hard would it be to invite this person/family to join us at Northside during this time? Probably not as hard as you think, and the result of your invitation could have eternal significance. A few weeks ago, Bro. Shawn wrote and asked us who was our “one.” If you don’t have a “one,” get one then work to build a relationship that will lead to inviting him or her to church.
If you were not approached by one of our youth students, but would like to purchase a Boston Butt, I have 14 tickets available through this Sunday, March 31. See me if you are interested.

MUSIC & OUTREACH
Many of you have already requested to switch from the printed weekly newsletter to the online version. If you are in Realm already, you should be receiving a notification weekly when the newsletter is posted online. If you have not activated your Realm account, and would like a weekly email link to the newsletter, that can be done too. Just email me and let me know. We will continue to remove people from the mailing list until we get it close to the minimum allowable to keep our bulk mailing rate.
My Easter Story
I hope you’ve invited someone to join you on Sunday night, April 14, for our Easter program “My Easter Story.” It just might be the beginning of your guest’s own Easter story.
This tool is already being used by many of our members, classes, and committees to communicate with each other. It is so much more than just an online giving app. All Northside attendees, members, and friends are welcome to join. Let me know if you need an email invitation or are having any issues logging in.
Kathryn B. Douglas Media Library
Our library has a new community group in Realm. This is a place where announcements about new books will be posted. You can join this group in Realm and post your own book reviews or discuss with others books they might enjoy. In Realm, go to Groups, then “find groups” and search for groups you’d like to join. More groups like this are being added. Let me know if you have a group idea that you think we need to add. When guests visit Northside, they will be encouraged to search the groups feature in Realm to help them get connected with new friends.
Here's instructions for how to find a group on an iPhone.

We are always striving to keep our records up to date. We have a lot of people who are currently receiving our weekly newsletter that no longer live in this area. Many no longer have family or close friends who attend Northside and therefore most of the names referenced in the newsletter are unfamiliar. If you fall into one of these categories and would like to opt out of receiving the mailed newsletter we would love to hear from you. Send an email to email@example.com or give us a call at 205-384-3214. Thanks for your help!!
