A WORD FROM THE PASTOR:
Dear Northside Family,
This time next week we will be in the midst of an extraordinary week of Vacation Bible School where we will have the opportunity to teach children biblical truths about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pray for our workers as they put the finishing touches on their Bible studies. Pray for the children to hear from God during the week regarding salvation. Pray for discernment on the part of those counselors who will be talking with the children who make decisions to follow Christ. Pray for the good health of everyone participating in VBS. Pray for the family members who will attend Family Night on Friday to hear the clear message of Jesus Christ and His offer of salvation. It would be wonderful if some of the family members would come to Christ during this night of celebration.
Look around your neighborhood for some children who would benefit from a week of VBS. Talk to their parents and see if they would let their children come be part of an exciting week of learning about Jesus. For those of you who know my testimony, you will perhaps recall that a gentleman in our neighborhood saw me out in the yard playing as he and his family passed by on their way to church. He soon invited me to ride with them. About a year later, I prayed to receive Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. You never know what plans God might have for a child in your neighborhood. Some little boy just might grow up to be your pastor one day. It has happened before!

Youth & Education
VBS – Next Monday will bring the start of the VBS for 2019. Our prayer is that children will fill this place so that we can have the opportunity to share Jesus with them through Bible study, missions, crafts, snacks, and yes, even in recreation. The building will be open early every morning for you to come and pray for this effort. For a number of years, VBS has been the single biggest evangelistic effort in our church. Please invite children in your neighborhoods to join us. We begin in the sanctuary each morning at 9:00 a.m., and we end each day at noon.
VBS Registration – We are now registering for “In The Wild.” VBS will be June 3-7, with Family night set for Friday, June 7. Teachers and decorators are busy prepping for a great week. Please, take a minute and think of who you can invite to be involved with us for VBS this year. There are some invitations on the registration table that your children can take to invite others to come.
VBS Snack – Look for the poster in the education foyer that will give you options as to what you can purchase to help with VBS snacks each day. Miss Lou and her crew will be fixing up goodies each day for the children to enjoy. Each snack will go along with the “In The Wild” theme and be matched to the study for the day. Thanks in advance for your help.
All monies and track cards should have been turned in this past week. We will have ETMT training on Wednesday night, June 5, during Base. Notarized permission forms, with copies of health insurance cards, are due by June 9 at the latest.

MUSIC & OUTREACH
VBS - We have less than one week left until the beginning of VBS. That’s less than one week for you to reach out to a child’s family and invite the child to VBS. Our VBS might be that child’s only chance to hear about Jesus. If you don’t invite him or her, who will?
Children’s Choir – We only have a few remaining rehearsals for our VBS musical. Parents, remember that we rehearse Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 5:00 p.m., and we’ll have an extra rehearsal the Friday of VBS right after noon. Then we’ll share the musical with you and all the families at VBS Family Night on Friday. On Wednesday nights, beginning June 12, our kids will be having fun while learning about missions in RAs and GAs again. Children’s choir will return again in September when we begin working on Christmas music.

Library - Have you visited our library lately? With school coming to an end, our library will be a great place to find some cool reads to help children stay occupied on hot summer days!!!
VBS - invitations are available for you to use to invite children that you know. You will find them in the foyer of the education building. We want to fill this building with children who are eager to know about our Jesus.
